Family Friendly Festivals

Sometimes becoming a parent means you have to miss out on doing things that you loved when you were younger.. standing in a field and listening to your favourite band with an ice-cold cider in your hand seems like a distant dream! True? Think again! The UK festival scene has completely changed over the last ten years and your little ones can be rocking out just as much as the big kids too!

In our first blog here at None More Black, we have pulled together our top five family friendly festivals that we know you’ll enjoy with your little band mates:

None More Black presents Family Friendly Festival blog - Slipknot on the main stage at Download Festival

The monsters of rock have extended their age range so mini rockers from 0-4 years of age are allowed at Download for free, but must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. With plenty of options for quiet camping or VIP, your little tribe will be well looked after. There’s also a VIP area where you can have some much needed down time with your little ones along with fabulous food options too. How amazing would it be to have their first live music experience being the amazing Kiss or Iron Maiden? Get the last remaining tickets here.

None More Black presents Family Friendly Festival blog - Young girl at Camp Bestival

Taking place in Shropshire from 28-31 July and Dorset from 18-21 August there is soo much stuff for you all to enjoy. For the parents, you can watch Elvana, an Elvis fronted Nirvana or rock out to the old school tunes from EMF! For the kids, the list is endless.. kid discos, pirate sandpits, softplay, Cosmic Kids Yoga, Horrible Histories and even the legend Mr Tumble himself. You can still get your tickets now so get booking here. The line up is slightly different for each venue so best to check before you book.

None More Black presents Family Friendly Festival blog - Families eating at The Big Feastival

Stereophonics are headlining on the Sunday of Big Feastival and there is SO much to do there. A staggering amount of food and drink stalls to suit all your families tastes plus the likes of Bluey, Andy & The Odd Socks, Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park, Zog and Special Guest Bedtime Stories each night. Phew! We can’t recommend this festival enough, our kids were exhausted and yours will be too. Grab your tickets here for an amazing August bank holiday weekend.

None More Black presents Family Friendly Festivals blog - Fans watching Elvana at Standon Calling festival

Primal Scream are closing the Standon Calling Festival which takes place from 21st to 24th July. Across the weekend they have circus performers, Rockaoke (which means you can perform rock tunes with your own band, karaoke style!), Madness, Dick and Dom DJ Battle and they even have a babysitting service onsite! Did we mention there is a swimming pool too..? This is great for the kids (and late night partying parents!) and is free to use as part of your festival ticket!

None More Black presents Family Friendly Festival blog - Family at Victorious Festival

Stereophonics, Primal Scream, Ocean Colour Scene and Nothing But Thieves are just some of the bands performing at this idyllic festival over August Bank holiday weekend on the Southsea coast. With arts and crafts, discos, face painting, beach area and meet and greets with your little rockers favourite characters, you will love this family friendly festival and want to go back year after year!

Watch this space for future blogs where we’ll cover the best ear defenders for your little monsters, gigs we have been to as a family, tips for festivals with the family and many more! Let us know if there are any festivals you think we’ve missed too.

Rock on guys!
